Hey, call me Nic
I began my photography career shooting families in 2012. Instagram was new then (sound old much?) and I quickly grew obsessed with taking photos but frustrated by the limitations of my camera phone and its addictive app. And that’s when I bought my first little DSLR, Lightroom and the rest, as they say, is history. Weddings were a happy accident born in 2013. I’m completely self taught. I have two incredible daughters, a British short hair cat and a working cocker dog and they like to lay side by side. There is a Mr too, it’s his job to take my headshots < and he loves doing that (for the avoidance of doubt, that is sarcasm).
Photography is so important to me. The role it plays in my life is far more than that of a profession. It’s my passion. It makes me feel and when I deliver your gallery I want you to get the feels too. Photographs become more important with every passing year. None of us are getting any younger and our lives and our celebrations need to be documented.
Get to know me…
Things I love:
I love golden light and making photographs (obvs).
I also love new PJ’s.
I love strong cheese.
Crisps.
A good glass of red.
Food - cooking it, eating out and ordering in.
I love crap TV. Probably not cool to admit that but I like to keep it real.
I love Schitts Creek and I’m Dan Levy’s No1 fan. Met him too!
Oh and I love true crime. Documentaries and podcasts. Can’t get enough.
Holidays - Ibiza and New York are favourites.
Elephants - In 2023 I went on Safari and it was one of the best things ever.
I love the autumn and the colours it brings but Christmas tops it for me. I love decorating the Christmas tree (I promise I don’t redo it when everyone else is at school/work).
I like watching Christmas films early...early early. Nothing wrong with Love Actually in October.
I love music that evokes emotion. Whether it makes me want to dance or cry!
Flowers. Especially peonies and ranunculus.
