Alex & Abi's Micro Wedding in Winchester
Like thousands of couples this year, Abi & Alex had very different plans for their 2020 wedding. Their Italian dream day was booked for the peak of summer and naturally, everyone was looking forward to combining a wedding and holiday! But as we all know, Covid had other ideas.
Alex & Abi didn’t want to wait and reschedule. They just wanted to be married! So on an early October day, when the rule of 30 was still in play, they married in Winchester. The registry office in Winchester is one of my favourites. An old building, drenched in history, fitting of its location.
A few week pro to the wedding, Alex & Abi took a trip to Winchester for her birthday and heard musicians in the street. She suggested they try and book them for the wedding, to play nearby. Alex pretended he couldn’t reach them so as they walked the short distance from Winchester Registry Office to their meal at The Ivy, Abi was so surprised to see/hear them playing. Passersby and The Ivy diner greeted them to a round of applause and it really was one of the mostly lovely moments I’ve had the pleasure to witness.
I’ll leave you with the rest, the images. They will fill you in on the rest of the day.
If you’re having a small micro wedding in Winchester due to Covid (or maybe because you just fancy it) I’d love to hear from you.
